Both Stayin' Alive Fitness Center facilities offer mostly the
same membership amenities, of which you will see described below:
Aerobics: We offer several levels of aerobics and group exercise classes like: step, jazz, yoga, cardio-combat and spinning
classes. These classes are all lead by A.F.A.A. or I.D.E.A. certified instructors. We offer more than 40 classes per week
in each facility. Each of our classes is taught with safety in mind and our goal is to be safe, enjoyable, and productive.
Our aerobics floors are either wood flex or closed cell aerobics padding and range from 1,500 - 3,000 square feet. We even
have two aerobics rooms in our Palm Beach Gardens facility.
Cardiovascular Area: The cardiovascular
area is where all of our cardiovascular equipment is organized. In the cardiovascular area we offer: treadmills, elliptical
trainers, stair climbers, computerized exercise bikes, and recumbent bikes.
Treadmills: Treadmills
offer a great cardiovascular workout with a variety of uses. They can be used for walking, jogging, or running on flat and
inclined levels. Most of our treadmills are computerized and motorized with heart rate monitors.
Elliptical
Trainers: Elliptical trainers are the newest type of cardiovascular equipment and they simulate running, stair climbing,
and biking. They are very low impact and give a great lower body workout with a forward or reverse motion. Great for the butt,
hips, and thighs. Some of our elliptical trainers also have an upper body resistance mechanism which involves the upper body
as well as lower body.
Stair Climbers: Stair climbing is a great low impact lower body workout
which involves all major muscles of the lower body. Stair climbing burns high calories when taking full strides. Because your
feet are in constant contact with the stair climber pedals there is virtually no impact so you will not cause or irritate
knee, lower back, hip, or shin problems. Each stair climber can be programmed with 10 programs for 10 different fitness levels
and provide user feedback on calories burned, stairs climbed, elapsed time and time remaining.
Computerized
Bikes: Our computerized bikes provide several program courses to allow the user to increase or decrease effort. The
bikes can display a hill course were the rider simulates riding up and down hills to accomplish the course. The computerized
bikes have heart rate monitors, display screens, distance monitors, elapsed time display, time remaining intervals, and calories
burned indicators.
Recumbent Bikes: Recumbent bikes are very similar to computerized upright bikes
with one major difference. Rather than your feet being below your body they are in front of your body. This is easier for
some people to use and is known to alleviate back problems associate with bike riding.
Cardiovascular Exercise:
All of the classes and machines offered above are considered cardiovascular exercise. Cardiovascular exercise is not only
good for burning fat but, is also good for reducing the risk of heart disease, increased lung capacity, reducing stress, improving
blood circulation, reducing high blood pressure and increasing longevity, if performed at least 3 time per week for a minimum
of 25 minutes.
Free Weights: The free weight area is were we have all the dumbbells, olympic plates,
barbells, benches, and rubber flooring. Free weights are great for toning and building lean body tissue. Free weights can
be a very important part of every persons exercise program. It may be a simply dumbbell bicep curl or a triceps extension.
Resistance Machines: As you will notice we have several resistance training machines from several
different manufacturers. When training with resistance machines variety is important. By changing the workout and using similar
machines from different manufacturers you will notice continuous results. Each machine is design to work a specific muscle.
You will notice by the variety and amount of equipment we can work each muscle group at least five different ways. You will
also notice we are doubled and tripled on some machines to make sure they are available when you need them.
Some of the manufacturers we use are: Life Fitness, Body Masters, Sprint, Cybex, Cam-Star, Hammer Strength, and Maxi-Cam.
These are all top of the line fitness companies.
Other Facilities & Services Offered:
Nursery: We have a nursery in all of our clubs to accommodate parents who need to exercise. The nursery
is complimentary with a Gold or Platinum Membership and has daily use charges for our Club Basics Membership. The nursery
is open Monday thru Saturday and you should refer to the schedule for specific times. The charges for club basics members
is $2.00 for the first one or two children and $1.00 for each additional child per visit. Children 6 years and older may only
visit childcare at specific times so please check the sign posted in the nursery.
Locker Rooms:
In our locker rooms we have individual showers, individual daily use lockers, vanity and rest rooms as well as a dry sauna.
